# How to match a blouse piece to your saree

A well-matched blouse makes even a simple saree look planned. Here is how we match colours at our counter.

## Bring the saree, not a photo

Phone cameras shift colours, especially maroons, wines and greens. Hold the saree against the blouse piece in daylight.

## Match the border, not the body

For most sarees, a blouse matching the *border* or *pallu* looks richer than one matching the main body.

## Contrast works too

Classic pairs: mustard with maroon, bottle green with pink, navy with gold, and black with almost anything that has zari.

## Don't forget the petticoat

Match the petticoat to the saree body so it does not show through light fabrics.
